Scuba
Schools International (SSI) has developed
a unique program for kids age 8 and up with the goal to
let them discover Scuba Diving in a safe and natural way.
This program is called Scuba Rangers and has different
levels. Below you can see a typical Scuba Ranger experience
at Buddy Dive Resort where we have certified Scuba Rangers
Instructors. |

Red Ranger
Today
we snorkeled. Of course I could do that already but
my Ranger Leader wanted to make sure we were very good
in snorkeling. It was fun to learn some new things such
as clearing my snorkel after going through the ring
on the bottom. We also had some toys in the water such
as a torpedo and an underwater disk. We could throw
these at each other and had to catch them! A lot of
fun!!
|
|
White Ranger
Scuba diving is fun!! Today we
went diving. I had to put my stuff together. Where necessary
Buddy’s Ranger Leader helped me. I put the set
on in the water and together with my Ranger Leader went
under water. It was great, a bit strange to breath underwater
but I got used to that real fast. First we did some
exercises, like clearing my mask and finding and replacing
my regulator and when we could do that we got to play
around in the pool, again with the torpedo and the disk!

Blue Ranger
Went
diving again today. I’m getting better and better!
I almost put my set together all by my self. Oh yes,
we went in to the ocean today. That was real cool, I
took a lot of pictures of the fish. Now I still have
to find out their names… We could go into the
ocean because we were very good in the pool and it was
safe for us to go in the ocean. Mom was a bit worried
but after she saw what we did she was really proud.
She took some pictures I can show to my friends and
at school.

Silver Ranger
Tomorrow I am going to show my
parents what I learned this week. So today we had to
practice every thing we learned so far and now I’m
almost as good as dad. I can take off my mask, find
my regulator and share air with my buddy. I’m
a bit nervous about tomorrow, but my Ranger Leader says
everything will be ok!

Green Ranger
I
AM A SCUBA RANGER. Everything went well today. Mom and
dad are really proud of me. They could join us in the
pool but only with their snorkel, otherwise they would
be in our way! I got a nice diploma and there is a nice
certification card coming in the mail for me! For sure
I’m going to join a Scuba Rangers Club in my home
town and now I can also discover the oceans like my
parents do.
This is really awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
