If you’re a new diver who has never taken a photo underwater... or if you’re currently using a camera underwater and simply would like to make better photos, the Buddy Dive u/w Photography Event is the program for you!
From November 24th – December 22nd 2012 Registered guests of Buddy Dive Resort are encouraged to participate in a special version of our 3 day Masters Underwater Digital Photo Class consisting of three half day photo classes. The three classes (regularly valued at $300) are Diving with a Digital Camera, Macro and Close Up Photography, and Advanced Camera Settings and color correcting u/w images using PhotoShop. Each class, and escorted photo dive, is conducted by Buddy Dive Resort’s own Digital Doctor, John Wall, an u/w photo veteran with over 40 years teaching experience. On top of this every second diver dives for FREE! Special rental rates on camera equipment are available for participants in this program.
Price structure:
• Sign up for the 3 Day Master Photo Program when you make your reservation and pay only $100.00
• A registered guest of Buddy Dive Resort, Caribbean Club Bonaire, or Belmar Apartments may register at the Digital Photo Center for $150.00
• Bonaire residents or guests at other hotel locations may participate in the program (based on space available) at the standard rate of $300.00

Sunday – Registration at Buddy Dive Digital Photo Center
Sunday – Diving with a Digital Camera – Workshop 4 – 6 pm
Emphasis of this class:
• Preparation of camera housing to insure watertight integrity
• Personalized camera settings to facilitate colorful underwater photos
• Proper underwater camera technique
• Proper buoyancy control and body position to minimize harmful impact on coral reef
• Successful techniques for approaching fish and predicting fish behavior
• Escorted Dive at 8 am Monday on Buddy’s Reef
Monday – Macro and close up photography – Workshop 4 – 6 pm
Emphasis of this class:
• Preparing and using the camera in the macro setting
• Re-emphasis of buoyancy control and body position to minimize harmful impact of coral reef
• Successful techniques for closely approaching vertebrates and invertebrates
• Camera angles that add impact to macro shots
• Escorted dive at 8 am Tuesday on Buddy’s Reef
Tuesday – Advanced Camera settings – Workshop 4 – 6 pm
Emphasis of this class:
• Review of previous technique
• Gain additional control of the underwater camera system by using advanced settings
• Improved image composition
• Re-emphasis of buoyancy control and body position to minimize harmful impact of coral reef
• Escorted dive at 8 am on Wednesday on Buddy’s Reef
Thursday
Free photo day to enhance skills learned during classes conducted on Mon – Wed.
