Christmas and New Year at Buddy Dive
Also this year Marcel, our F&B Manager, and his team did their utmost to put a wonderful Christmas program together. It started on Christmas Eve with a visit from Santa. All children staying at the resort and children of our employees were invited to visit Santa. You can see Laura, the daughter of Augusto our Dive Manager, sitting on Santa’s lap. Afterwards dinner was served and Moogie played unplugged his Christmas carols. Christmas day dinner was served in the poolbar with music from the Latin Jazz Quartet. Boxing day we had our regular cook out on the beach.
This year we continued our tradition of organizing our famous Champagne Hunt on December 31st. Augusto and his team hid empty champagne bottles on Buddy’s Reef and at 3 p.m. the hunt started. Also this year we gave away a Suunto Dive computer as main prize and 50 divers went into the water to find this special champagne bottle. All bottles were found and that night at 10 pm the prizes were given away.
This year we decided to do it a little different than last year’s New Years Eve party. No popular DJ from Holland this time but a local band till 12.30 am and after that local DJ’s Paul and Joep played some tunes. Off course we treated the island again with a spectacular fireworks show from our dock.

First new car rented out
At the beginning of December the first 25 new pick ups arrived on the island and the week before Christmas they were delivered to Buddy Dive, where our many time repeaters Carl Hauser, Michael Geduldig and Kenneth Cable got the keys of the first new truck out of the hands of general manager, Michelle van der Valk. The next shipment of 25 cars will be on Bonaire at the end of January.

Kids Sea Camp at Buddy Dive
Buddy Dive is proud to host the Kids Sea Camp for the third consecutive year. This year your kids will be able to join the camp from June 7 – 14 or from June 14 – 21. What is Kids Sea Camp about? The objective is to promote an awareness of marine related issues, with a strong focus on conservation. During Kids Sea Camp, students are faced with multiple activities and the enthusiasm of a staff dedicated to teaching new and fun things about the oceans with both education in a class room environment as well as hands on programs that teach age appropriate curriculum. SASY (snorkeling), SEAL TEAM (the first stage of scuba diving, experienced in a enclosed shallow environment), Jr. Open Water Certification (scuba diving training for kids 10 and up) and the Teen Ocean Discovery Program (advanced programs for certified divers, working on continued education and certifications).
While the kids are enjoying the program the parents have the opportunity to join the boats or go shore diving. The boat dives leave at 8.30 am and at 10.30 am. There is also a night boat dive scheduled for the parents, while the kids are enjoying a pizza and a movie. The kids program ends daily at 2.30 pm.
